You’re never too old to play according to Play By Design.
Their mission is to create unique, safe, and affordable all-inclusive play structures that provide a recreational environment in which all children can grow physically, socially, and cognitively.
Last Wednesday, Play By Design revealed their plans for Everhart Park’s new playground. It was a true community effort with input from residents, teachers, therapists, community members, and Hillsdale Elementary students about what the new playground should include.
Their answers included a pirate ship with a movable floor, a two-story, wheelchair-accessible treehouse, multiple monkey bars, a rock wall, an obstacle course, multiple slides, a mini downtown “storefronts” and a natural play area.
The next steps are finalizing and presenting the plans to the Parks and Recreation Commission and Borough Council. The playground is expected to open in the Fall of 2020 or Spring of 2021.
